When tightened, the laces are much less than 3mm wide. However, they are the right colour, right length and good value, so not a deal breaker. I would order the 5mm next time though, in order to end up at 3mm wide.
Just what I needed, I will use big laces again.

Thought I'd give my dark blue shoes a lift so I changed the laces from blue to burgundy. They now look even better.
